Monetizing your web proxy
There are many ways to monetize a proxy site with the usual being Adsense on the homepage and Adbrite on the proxied pages but there are many other options available.
I will start with the proxied pages first as if you have success on that you can always include the same code on the homepage as it would always be allowed.
Proxied Page Ads
Adversal is a good option for the proxied pages if you are going to use popups or popbehinds of any kind. These kind of ads to earn up to $6cpm and if you have the traffic for them it could turn into a nice revenue stream but be warned pops of any kind can also drive away traffic and I personally don't use them on my proxies.
Smowtion is a 100% fill banner ad network which does accept proxies and allows their banners to be on proxied pages. The cpm for these ads can be fairly low but they are a good backup source of income if your better advertisers don't have any inventory at the time or if they have limited inventory. You also receive an 80% revenue share instead of the standard 60% if you use the link I have provided
Cpalead is gateway provider which is a popup with a twist. You can select which countries see the gateway which means you have total control and can lock your proxy site down if the visitor doesn't do a desired action, which can be them filling in a survey or paying you a fee via paypal. I have had some decent returns with this as I target the countries that provide little to no banner revenue such as china or iran. It has reduced my traffic from those countries significantly but I have also earned a few dollars off the traffic as some will pay or do the action for the privilage of using your proxy.
Adbrite is pretty much the standard for proxy owners which I really don't understand as I've had no real success with them at all but if you are willing to give them a try click the banner below to sign up.
Home Page Ads
The best for the proxy sites homepage is Googles Adsense as it targets the ads to the keywords on your homepage so you are always going to get relevant ads for your visitors so you should get steady clicks if you have good traffic to your proxy site.
Another options for the proxy sites homepage are Yahoo's Publisher Network if you can get approved as they are taking longer and longer to approve anyone.
